Project Description:

We've partnered with New South Media Inc. and Jefferson County CVB for the past few years to execute a comprehensive digital media brand overhaul for the Jefferson County, West Virginia CVB. The project aimed to showcase the unique attractions, rich history, and natural beauty of Jefferson County, positioning it as a premier travel destination. Our work included the creation of multiple commercial spots, a brand overview video, and a collection of high-quality photography and video assets for both print and digital publications. The content was designed to captivate potential visitors and highlight the county’s diverse offerings, from outdoor adventures to cultural landmarks.

Key Production Details:

Research and Planning:

We conducted extensive research on Jefferson County’s key attractions, local culture, and visitor demographics. This involved collaborating closely with the CVB team and New South Media Inc. to align on strategic objectives and key messaging. We also analyzed tourism trends and competitor content to ensure our production stood out.

Scripting:

Our team worked closely with Buddy Butler at New South Media to develop compelling scripts for the commercial spots and brand overview video, emphasizing the county’s unique selling points. The scripts were crafted to evoke a sense of adventure and discovery, highlighting activities such as hiking, historical tours, and local cuisine.

Storyboarding:

Detailed storyboards were created to plan out the visual storytelling elements for each video. This process included mapping out shot sequences, transitions, and key visual themes to ensure a consistent and engaging narrative across all media.

Location Scouting:

Our team scouted various locations throughout Jefferson County, including Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Shenandoah River, Shepherdstown and Charles Town. We selected locations that best captured the county’s scenic beauty, historical significance, and vibrant community life. Special consideration was given to filming during optimal lighting conditions to enhance the visual appeal.

Filming and Cinematography:

Under the direction of Anthony Greene, we captured high-quality footage showcasing the county’s landmarks, events, and natural landscapes. Nathan Greene served as both A/C and drone pilot, capturing stunning aerial shots that provided a unique perspective on the region’s topography. Benjamin Bailey assisted as a production assistant, ensuring smooth operations on set. Photographer Josh Lykins contributed high-resolution images that were later used in both digital and print campaigns.

Editing and Post-Production:

Anthony Greene and Nathan Greene led the editing process, crafting a cohesive and dynamic visual narrative. This included color grading, sound design, and the integration of music and graphics. The editing team ensured that each video and photographic asset aligned with the overall brand vision, delivering a polished final product.

Final Delivery and Implementation:

The final assets were delivered in various formats suitable for web, social media, and traditional advertising channels. The content was designed to be versatile, easily adaptable for different marketing campaigns. We provided the CVB with strategic recommendations on leveraging the new media assets to maximize reach and engagement.

Conclusion:

The digital media brand overhaul for Jefferson County, West Virginia CVB was a resounding success. The project’s comprehensive approach—encompassing video production, photography, and strategic branding—provided a fresh, captivating representation of the county’s allure.
